Little Bear and his parents are going to be hosting a winter solstice dinner for their family and friends. Little Bear asks when they will be eating, to which Mother Bear responds by telling him that they are waiting for Grandmother and Grandfather Bear. Little Bear looks outside. When he sees them coming, he runs out into the snow and greets them. Mother Bear and Father Bear come outside. As is their yearly tradition, they hang lanterns and food on a tree for the snow angels.

As they decorate the tree with lights, popcorn strings, and chestnut bags, they sing a winter solstice song. Little Bear adds some cookies to the tree as well. At this point, Owl, Hen, Duck, Cat, Emily, Granny, and Tutu arrive. Little Bear greets them with a happy winter solstice which they all respond to in suit. Then, they all have fun in the snow as they sled, snowball fight, and make snow angels. Soon, it is time for them to eat. The main course for the evening is salmon.

Outside, many forest animals such as birds, deer, and rabbits eat the food while everyone, after the meal, is sitting by the fire. Little Bear goes to the window and sees that the tree is bare of food. He asks where the snow angels are and Grandfather Bear says they must have come and gone. Little Bear goes outside and sees a fawn by the tree. Little Bear believes it's a snow angel. After spotting a cookie on a high branch, he gives it to the fawn who joins the other animals. Before they are out of sight, Little Bear calls out, "Happy winter solstice, snow angels!"
